All Angels COVID-19 Response Update — April 22nd

We are here for you.

The COVID-19 Response Team has been meeting regularly for a month and have focused on reaching out to All Angels parishioners to get contact information, assess needs, and gather offers of support. Building on our existing network of house churches, we have established thirteen geographically-based groups, each with independent leadership empowered to serve their neighborhoods. We have collected information from 150 parishioners (individuals or families) and put them in contact with the leaders from their neighborhood.

Through this process, we identified several members with immediate needs and connected them to neighbors who could help. If we do not have your contact info, it’s not too late to fill out the Google form. If you have already filled out the form and your needs have change, email us and let us know how we can support you.

Prayer Pods

In the midst of fear, uncertainty, irritability, and sorrow, we turn to God in prayer. This is one of the primary ways we are lifting up our brothers and sisters in Christ. We have a dozen prayer pods meeting already.

Email covid19@allangelschurch.com if you would like to join a small group of 3-4 people meeting throughout the week to pray together.

By now, you have hopefully heard that in response to growing needs within our parish following the outbreak of COVID-19, we have started a benevolence fund, named from these verses:

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. (Psalm 91: 5-6, 9-12)

We believe that together we are called to serve with the angels God has commanded to lift up those who have been brought low during this pandemic. While we know these times will stretch many of us financially, we ask those who are able to consider giving sacrificially, beyond your normal pledge. One hundred percent of your gift will go directly to helping a fellow parishioner facing an immediate financial crisis.

Seeking Help

If you are an epidemiologist or web developer, the COVID-19 team could use your support! Email covid19@allangelschurch.com.

Community Building & Creative Support

The COVID-19 team has received many creative offers of support from parishioners, who have offered to host job hunt seminars, virtual crafting circles, exercise classes, and more.
We are experimenting with ways to connect parishioners through these opportunities, and our first experiment is tonight at 7:30 pm, when parishioner Matias Letelier will host a family magic show over Zoom!
Feedback and additional offers are welcome to covid19@allangelschurch.com.

Family Magic Show!

Matias Letelier–Illusionist, Magician, and All Angels’ member–is offering a magic show for kids and families this Wednesday, 4/22, at 6:30 PM on Zoom. He’ll even reveal the secret behind some of his magic!
